The ‘Dynamite’MV by the Kpop group BTS recorded 1.4 billion views a year and a half after its release.
According to BIGHIT Music on February 25, the number of YouTube views of the music video for BTS’ digital single ‘Dynamite’ exceeded 1.4 billion around 7:31 pm on February 24.
‘Dynamite’ thus achieved the third 1.4 billion views in BTS’ music video after ‘Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)’ and ‘DNA.’
‘Dynamite,’ released simultaneously on August 21, 2020, is a cheerful, disco-pop song. It is a ‘healing song’ with BTS’s desire to deliver a message of hope for everyone in a difficult time due to COVID-19.
The ‘Dynamite’ music video contains the members expressing their own style and personality in different spaces. This music video provides a variety of attractions, such as a background using colorful props and retro-concept clothes and hairstyles. Also, it surpassed 3 million concurrent users immediately after its release. Then, it achieved a YouTube premiere viewing record of 100 million in 24 hours. With 1 million views, it is recognized as a new record for ‘most viewed in 24 hours’ in YouTube music video history.
BTS wrote remarkable history through ‘Dynamite.’
It charted for a total of 32 weeks. It includes being at the top of the US Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ chart for two weeks in a row. Also, it set the record for the longest-charting song for a Korean singer.
‘Dynamite’ also surpassed the cumulative 1 billion streams for the first time as a Korean artist’s work on Spotify, in July 2021. Since then, it has been the second and the first male artist’s work to break the record of 500 million views.
Meanwhile, BTS has a total of 35 music videos with billions of views. ‘DNA,’ ‘Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey),’ and ‘Dynamite’ have 1.4 billion views each, MIC Drop’ remix with 1.1 billion views, and ‘FAKE LOVE’ and ‘IDOL‘ with 1 billion views each.
Then, BTS songs ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’ and ‘Dope’ have 700 million views each, ‘Save ME,’ and ‘Butter’ have 500 million views each, ‘Not Today’ and ‘Spring Day’ have 400 million views each, ‘ON’ kinetic manifesto film, ‘Life Goes On,’ ‘Black Swan,’ ‘Permission to Dance,’ have 300 million views each, ‘War of Hormones’ and ‘FIRE’ have 200 million views each.
