What is Nick Foles' Net Worth and Salary?
Nick Foles is an American professional football player who has a net worth of $40 million. Nick Foles is best known as the Super Bowl-winning quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Early Life
Nicholas Edward Foles was born on January 20, 1989, in Austin, Texas. He was raised there and attended Westlake High School where he was a two-year starter for the football team, breaking most of the school's records that were previously held by future fellow NFL quarterback, Drew Brees. Foles was also excellent at basketball, but in the end decided to pursue football and committed to Arizona State. He later switched his decision to Michigan State but ultimately transferred to the University of Arizona.
Foles became the unquestioned starter for the Wildcats as a redshirt junior in 2010. He led them to a 7-1 start including a nationally televised victory against #9 Iowa. The next season, Foles ranked first in the Pac-12 Conference and fifth overall among NCAA Division I FBS players with an average of 352.6 offensive yards per game. He was second in the Pac-12 and 20th overall in total passing yards.
NFL Career
Nick Foles was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 88th overall pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He played for the Eagles from 2012 to 2014 and was traded to the St. Louis Rams where he played in 2015. During his NFL career, Foles was named the Pro Bowl Offensive MVP and was the NFL Passer rating leader in 2014. He recorded the 60th Perfect Game in NFL History on November 3, 2013, against the Oakland Raiders. Foles holds NFL records for most touchdown passes in a single game with seven, touchdown-to-interception ratio in the regular season at 27:2, and passer rating in a calendar month at 152.8. In 2015, he signed a two year extension with the Rams but was benched for Case Keenum in November of that year. Nick played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016 before being traded back to the Eagles in 2017.
Foles was originally brought in to back up Carson Wentz, but during week 14, he was put in the game to relieve Wentz and went on to help the Eagles defeat the Rams. Wentz was ruled out for the season with a torn ACL, and Nick became the team's starting quarterback. The Eagles beat the favored Vikings to win their division and made it to Super Bowl LII to face the New England Patriots. Incredibly, The Eagles went on to defeat the Patriots which makes Nick Foles the first QB to win a Super Bowl after starting the season as a backup… since Tom Brady did it 16 years prior.
Foles returned to his backup role with the Eagles in 2018 and helped guide them to another postseason run after Wentz was lost to injury again. The next year, Foles opted out of his contract with the Eagles for a starting role with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2020 where he spent two seasons as a backup and starter. When released by the Bears in 2022, Nick Foles joined the Colts as a backup quarterback.
Super Bowl LII
With Nick Foles replacing an injured Carson Wentz in week 14 of 2017, the Eagles clinched their first division title since 2013. Head coach Doug Pederson announced Foles would be the starter with Wentz ruled out for the rest of the season. The Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons 15-10 in the NFC Divisional playoff game behind Foles' 246 yards on 23 completions out of 30 passing attempts. It was their first playoff victory in nine seasons. Against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game, Nick Foles went 26 of 33 for 352 yards and three touchdowns to beat the Vikings 38-7.
In Super Bowl LII, Foles caught a touchdown pass from tight end Trey Burton in a play known as the "Philly Special." Nick became the first player to throw and catch a touchdown pass in a Super Bowl. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 to win the franchise's first Super Bowl, and Nick Foles was named the Most Valuable Player.
