Former Wanna One member and actor Seongwu Ong will become Santa for children in crisis worldwide. UNICEF’s Korean Committee (Chairman Gapyoung Jung) announced on December 22 that “We will launch UNICEF’s ‘life-saving gift’ campaign with Seongwu Ong for Christmas and the year-end season.”
In fact, ‘Life-Saving Gift’ is a campaign, which sponsors select and donate goods. Then, UNICEF distribution centers deliver support items to children worldwide in urgent order. UNICEF designed this campaign to help sponsors become Santa and deliver gifts to children for the Christmas and year-end season.
Sponsorship items consist of three themes: meal kit (10 bags of nutritional room measure, 300 bags of milk, 4 packs of therapeutic milk), warm kit (5 blankets, 1 set of winter clothes for children), health kit (10 DPT vaccines, 10 measles vaccines, and 20 tuberculosis vaccines). It can be selected and sponsored on the UNICEF Korea Committee website. If you certify your participation in social media after sponsorship, you can also receive a small gift.
Former Wanna One member Seongwu Ong participated in the campaign for talent donation. He said, “I am grateful to participate in UNICEF’s meaningful campaign for children. I hope more people will share the warmth of becoming Santa. So, new hopes can sprout for underprivileged children around the world in 2022.”
Kichul Lee, secretary-general of UNICEF’s Korean Committee, said, “I would like to thank Seongwu Ong for being Santa for children worldwide. So, we ask for the participation of many people so that all children worldwide can have a warm and happy winter,” he said.
Meanwhile, Seongwu Ong participated in the UNICEF Team campaign along with the Life-Saving Gift campaign. He took pictures and videos wearing a new design of the UNICEF team bracelet. Everyone can participate in the UNICEF Team campaign on the UNICEF Korea Committee website from December 28. So, if you apply for regular sponsorship through the UNICEF Team campaign, you can receive the UNICEF Team Bracelet worn by Seongwu Ong.
UNICEF Korea Committee is conducting fundraising and child rights advocacy activities on behalf of UNICEF in Korea.
