Members RM, Jin, and J-Hope of the Kpop group BTS recently sold 10 billion KRW worth of shares in their agency HYBE.
According to HYBE’s public disclosure information on their investor’s relations website, BTS members Jin (Seokjin Kim) sold 16,000 shares for 333,000 KRW per share on October 19. The selling amount is about 4.8 billion KRW.
Another member J-Hope (Hoseok Jung), also sold 5,601 shares in the market for 332,063 KRW per share on October 22. It is about 1.8 billion KRW.
Also, BTS leader RM sold 10,385 shares in the market seven times from October 13 to November 9. It is about 3.2 billion KRW. During this period, the lowest selling unit price was 282,500 KRW (October 13), and the highest-selling unit price was 381,750 KRW (November 9).
As a result, HYBE shares sold by Jin, J-Hope, and RM from mid-October to early November were estimated at about 9.9 billion KRW.
Chairman Sihyuk Bang, the largest shareholder of HYBE, donated a total of 478,695 shares equally to seven BTS members before listing last year. Based on the previous day’s closing price (352,500 won), the value of HYBE shares per person was 24.1 billion KRW, J-Hope with 22.1 billion KRW, RM with 20.4 billion KRW, and Jin with 18.5 billion KRW, respectively.
HYBE shares rose from around 200,000 KRW to 300,000 KRW in the second half of this year. It once entered the 400,000 KRW range thanks to the announcement of its entry into the NFT business last month.
