The number of YouTube views of the music video for the song ‘My Universe,’ a collaboration between the Kpop group BTS and the band Coldplay, has exceeded 100 million.
According to the agency Big Hit Music on November 7, the number of YouTube views of the music video for ‘My Universe’ exceeded 100 million views around 4:01 pm the previous day. It has been 37 days since the video’s release on Coldplay’s official YouTube channel on September 30.
This song was included in Coldplay’s recently released 9th full-length album ‘Music Of The Spheres.’
It drew attention as it had Korean lyrics written by BTS members themselves. The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, shows three groups from different planets, BTS, Coldplay, and the alien band ‘Supernova 7.’
The groups are connected through a hologram and perform together.
‘My Universe’ has been at the top of the real-time charts of major domestic music sites since its release. It ranked third immediately after its release in the ‘Top 100 Official Single Chart’ released by the UK’s official chart. On Billboard’s main singles chart, ‘Hot 100,’ US music media outlet, it topped the chart at the same time as it entered the chart. So, it marks the Kpop group BTS’ sixth ‘Hot 100’ No. 1.
In the latest ‘Hot 100’ chart, the song also ranked 20th and remained at the top for five consecutive weeks.
