Lisa of the Kpop group BLACKPINK is breaking new records in the shortest time in a row, not only in the music video but also in the choreography video.
According to YG Entertainment, on November 1, the exclusive performance video of Lisa’s first single, ‘MONEY,’ surpassed 200 million views on YouTube at 2:14 am on the same day.
It has been about 38 days since its release on September 24. It is the fastest period to reach 200 million views among Kpop artists’ choreography videos.
The previous shortest record was the choreography video for BLACKPINK’s hit song ‘How You Like That’ (45 days and 4 hours). Lisa broke the record for the shortest choreography video of BLACKPINK, to which she belongs. Her solo song reached 200 million views seven days earlier.
YG pointed out, “It is rare for a choreography video other than the main music video to record billions of views in a short period. Particularly, this video is an achievement achieved only with Lisa’s dance skills without any special broadcast performance.”
‘Money’ is a song with Lisa’s strong identity. It features a sophisticated hip-hop sound and confident rap lyrics. Since the song’s release on September 10, along with the title song ‘LALISA,’ it has received great love from fans worldwide.
The song’s performance on major charts around the world is also making remarkable achievements. It topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 38 countries. In Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, it rose to fifth place on the global chart.
In addition, ‘Money’ first entered the top 100 of the UK’s official charts during the same period. It jumped 35 places higher to 46th place on October 29. Lisa is the first Kpop female solo artist to make it to the chart for four weeks.
Moreover, ‘Money’ has been popular for six weeks. It ranked 2nd on the global YouTube top 100 chart, 11th and 9th on the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global, respectively.
Meanwhile, Kpop group BLACKPINK has a total of 32 billion views of music videos on YouTube. It currently has more than 68.9 million subscribers. It ranks first in this field among male and female artists around the world.
