BTS Jimin, The Representative Image That Comes To Mind When Thinking Of Korea

BTS Jimin is continuing his reputation as a global icon that goes beyond the popular music world by showing off his status as a frontman representing Korea in 2022.

When asked what comes to mind when you think of Korea on the theme of K-culture on JTBC’s Talk Pawon 25 O’Clock,’ which aired on February 16, people of various races mention Jimin’s name after the Squid Game and several Kpop idol groups.

A Japanese woman, who was asked, answered ‘Jimin’ without hesitation at the thought of Korea. Also, she once again said ‘BTS’ to an interviewer who asked back, “BTS Jimin?” raising expectations for next week’s episode.

As such, BTS Jimin’s presence, representing Korea, has lasted for years. For example, in an interview on ‘Korea’s Best Things,’ a local Australian woman said, “Jimin of Kpop, Jimin of BTS,” proving his global influence on Korea’s positive image.

On the US CBS’s ‘The Late Show with Steven Colbert,’ which aired last year, famous jazz musician Jon Batiste appeared in a concept scene from a trip to Korea in a hat and a T-shirt with Jimin’s face on it, making headlines in the US as a representative image of Korea.

In addition to Kpop, BTS Jimin has been leading the globalization of K-food such as Korean, hanbok, tteokbokki and dumplings, and Korea’s unique dance, Fan Dance. It has contributed greatly to revitalizing local economies such as Busan, Jimin’s destination, Jeju, and Chuncheon, where hanbok exhibitions are taking place.

In response, a US Korean wave media outlet reported in detail the unrivaled presence and status of BTS Jimin, the representative face and frontman of the team. He is an icon of national status contributing to the globalization of Kpop, a Korean culture.
