Kpop group BTS member J-Hope has set a new record in Spotify, the world’s largest music platform.
According to Spotify, on January 30, J-Hope recorded 8.8 million followers. He ranked first with the most followers on Spotify among Korean solo singers. Also, J-Hope has been at the top for two years and nine months since April 8, 2019.
Notably, among all 1153 Korean artists registered on Spotify, it rose 1 step from the previous ranking, reaching 4th place after BTS, BLACKPINK, and Twice. In addition, J-Hope ranked second after BTS among male singers.
Currently, J-Hope’s Spotify page includes his eight solo songs. Seven songs from ‘Hope World’ (Day Dream, Airplane, Hope World, Blue Side, Base Line, Hangsang, P.O.P) and ‘Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G).
BTS members released music for free on SoundCloud, and there were no separate personal activities. But, the continuous increase in followers proves J-Hope’s power as a solo artist.
At the end of last year, BTS J-Hope announced a new solo work at the BTS concert press conference in Los Angeles, USA, saying, “I continue to work on music without distinction about genres.”
Meanwhile, Kpop group BTS received a nomination for ‘Best Duo/Group of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Fan Army’ at the ‘iHeart Radio Music Award 2022’ in the United States.
The awards ceremony will be on March 22 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, USA.
