Kpop group ONEUS’ ‘Luna’ was named on ‘Best KPop Songs of the Year’ by US Billboard. Billboard, a music media outlet, announced the ’25 Best KPop Songs Of 2021′ selected by critics through its official website on December 17. Billboard selected ONEUS (Ravn, Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, Xion)’s title song ‘LUNA‘ from their 6th mini-album ‘BLOOD MOON’ at 4th place.
Regarding ‘BLOOD MOON,’ Billboard said, “This album doesn’t open with the voices of the boy band. Instead, it opens with traditional Korean singer Yelim Choi, who broke out on a 2021 television competition with a combination of pansori folk music and rap-like storytelling.”
“The celebration of classic and modern-day sounds continues with the EP’s single ‘LUNA,’ with ONEUS perfecting the combination it first experimented with on ‘Lit’ from 2019,” Billboard added.
Finally, Billboard said, “Blending traditional instrumentation with dreamy synthesizers marks a bold artistic statement for the group. Also, we can see them in a sweet spot that’s all more impressive after experimenting with top-notch releases this year. It includes the rock-rap ‘No Diggity,’ the funky Michael Jackson–inspired ‘Black Mirror,’ and the wild & wacky ‘Shut Up Crazy Hot.'”
Earlier, TIME magazine selected ONEUS as one of the ‘Best KPop Albums of 2021’ with their 1st full album, ‘DEVIL.’
Also, Billboard selected ONEUS as one of the ’25 Best KPop Songs of 2021′ with ‘LUNA.’
So, ONEUS became a representative group of the fourth generation in name amid favorable reviews from leading foreign media.
Meanwhile, Kpop group ONEUS recently completed its sixth mini-album ‘BLOOD MOON’ activities. They set their own record with more than 170,000 initial album sales. Expectations are also high for future performances as they have proved their unlimited growth with global fandom and popularity. In fact, they ranked first on music shows for the first time since their debut with the title song ‘LUNA.’
