Kpop group MAMAMOO member Hwasa is receiving a warm response from fans by releasing a performance video of a new song that captures the beauty of Korea.
Hwasa released a performance video of ‘I’m A Light,’ the title song of her second single album, ‘Guilty Pleasure,’ through her official social media at 7 pm on December 1.
The video begins with Hwasa staring at the camera with intense eyes. Hwasa maximized her free and dignified charm. She emphasized the dynamic movement through the difference in shades while the light shone down on her. She created a mysterious mood with special effects such as smoke screens, completing a more powerful and lively performance.
Notably, the background changed to a Hanok (traditional Korean house) in the middle of the video. Then, the gayageum (traditional Korean instrument) sound appeared. Hwasa caught the dancers’ attention by showing a dance break that expresses Korean style in a hip way to the gradually rising melody.
Since her solo comeback, Hwasa has been creating a sensation in the global music charts, including Korea. The new song ‘I’m a Light’ ranks on major domestic music charts immediately after its release. Then, ‘FOMO’ and ‘Bless U,’ included in the new album, succeeded in ranking.
Also, ‘I’m a Light’ ranks in the Top 10 iTunes Top Song Charts in 19 countries and regions worldwide. Then, it topped the daily charts of QQ Music, China’s largest music platform.
Furthermore, in 2021, for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, Hwasa showed off her strong music power by simultaneously entering her two songs ‘I’m a Light’ and ‘Bless U’ on the US Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart at 7th and 10th place, respectively.
Along with the comeback, Hwasa also conducted the ‘I’m a Light’ challenge through the global short-form mobile video platform TikTok. Currently, it is recording close to 3 million views, coloring the world with bright light.
