Kpop group BTS won the 2021 Hitmaker Awards in Los Angeles, USA. The group BTS won the ‘Record of the Year’ award. According to Big Hit Music, BTS received the award for its hit song ‘Butter’ at the Variety’s 2021 Hitmaker Awards held in Los Angeles on December 4 (US time).

BTS replaced the acceptance speech with a video. They said, “We’re grateful for Variety for giving us this honorable award. ‘Butter’ has a special meaning for us. It’s a song that we prepared to stop for a while in a pandemic situation, look back on ourselves, and deliver pleasant energy to many people.”

“This song has become a milestone for us to enjoy what we can do now and move forward. We’ve finished our desired face-to-face concerts in the last two years, which is the beginning of our new chapter. The happiest achievement as an artist is to share our music with many people,” BTS added.

‘Butter,’ released in May this year, achieved a milestone of topping the US Billboard’s main singles chart ‘Hot 100’ for a total of 10 weeks. It is a dance-pop song that combines exciting rhythms and BTS’s performance.

With this song, Kpop group BTS won the ‘Favorite Pop Song’ award at the 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs). Also, they were nominated for the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category at the ’64th Grammy Awards’ to take place in January next year.

Hosted by the US entertainment media Variety, the Hitmaker Awards is an event to commemorate musicians who contributed to making the most beloved song of the year. So, BTS enjoyed its second award after winning the 2019 Hitmaker ‘Group of the Year’ award.
