SM Entertainment donated the prize money for the Halloween Costume Contest to support children who will be transitioning out of foster care.
On October 31, SM held ‘SMTOWN WONDERLAND 2021 – Welcome to SM HALLOWEEN HOUSE’ and ‘SMTOWN Halloween Party,’ which takes place every year, in the form of a non-face-to-face contest.
SHINee Onew, NCT Chenle, Super Junior Shindong, AESPA Giselle, NCT Taeyong & Jungwoo, Red Velvet Yeri, and NCT Ten were selected as the best dressers at the event.
In fact, the prize money will proceed to the Beautiful Foundation in the name of the eight winners. This will help fund children transitioning out of foster care.
It is not the first time that SM Entertainment artists have shown their kind hearts through donating. Earlier, in March, SM has donated EXO x Jaesuk Yoo’s collaboration song, ‘Dancing King’ proceeds to the same organization.
The revenue from the song released in 2016 will fund campaigns to develop children’s talents and realize their dreams. It includes fashion bags with messages to improve the awareness of children.
Meanwhile, SM launched the social contribution brand ‘SMile’ in 2014. They are actively carrying out social contribution activities using SM’s content and infrastructure. It includes regular volunteer activities, talent donations for artists, and music education support for children in Asia and Korea.
