Kpop group BTS member Jin has emerged as an ’emerging powerhouse’ in the drama OST world. It affects the global market and is writing an unprecedented record for a Korean solo artist.
According to Shazam, a global music search platform, ‘Yours’ by BTS Jin, the OST of the tvN drama ‘Jirisan,’ wrote a new record by ranking first on Shazam’s ‘Top 200’ chart in Japan for five days in a row. Japan is the world’s second-largest music market. So, Jin’s record is the first and best record for a Korean solo artist. Even though this song was not released in the Japanese music market, it was an achievement.
In addition, ‘Yours’ topped the Indonesian Shazam ‘Top 200’ chart. Indonesian fans always call Jin ‘Mas Ganteng,’ or ‘Mr. Handsome,’ and convey their affection.
Kpop group BTS member Jin’s ‘Yours’ is also showing potential on the US Billboard chart. For the first time as a BTS solo song, it entered the ninth place on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Chart and topped the World Digital Song Sales Chart. In the Billboard Top-selling songs chart, it ranked second after Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’ and second on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart. It also ranked 67th on the Billboard Global (excluding the US) chart and 90th on the Global 200 chart.
‘Yours’ is a song that conveys a lyrical and warm emotion by combining Jin’s sweet vocals on the sound of string instruments and piano, adding depth to the narrative of ‘Jirisan.’
