‘Luxury ballad group’ 2AM took over the music industry in the second half of the year.

2AM (Jokwon, Changmin, Seulong, Jinwoon) released their new mini-album ‘Ballad 21 F/W’ on November 1. The double title song ‘Should’ve Known’ topped Bugs music chart immediately after its release. They have the power to take the top spot as soon as their comeback. 2AM achieved this amid the comeback rush of prominent senior and junior groups. So, 2AM once again proved their status as the ‘luxury ballad group’ with their first mini-album album after seven years.

2AM had several ballad hits, including their debut song ‘This Song,’ ‘Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die,’ ‘You Wouldn’t Answer My Call,’ I Wonder If You Hurt Like Me,’ and ‘One Spring Day.’

In addition, the double title songs ‘Should’ve Known’ and ‘No Good In Goodbye’ adds to the list of their hit songs.

Their album’s b-side tracks are also at the top of the domestic music charts. So, it heralds a mega-hit in the music industry in the second half of the year. In Bugs, the double title song ‘No Good In Goodbye’ ranked 6th. Then, the sidetracks ‘Can’t Sleep,’ and ‘Proposal’ ranked 55th and 58th, respectively. Also, member Jinwoon’s self-composed song ‘Always Me’ ranked in the top 80.

The new mini-album ‘Ballad 21 F/’W’ is full of 2AM ballad genre songs to match the album title. It is a high-quality album in which top producers Sihyuk Bang and Jinyoung Park participated in writing and composing. It is 2AM’s album with the participation of the members as a complete group. So, they tried to convey the members’ sincerity.

To this end, 2AM completed their own ballad collection through various songs, even within the same ballad genre. Notably, both the lyrics of the double title songs ‘Should’ve Known’ and ‘No Good In Goodbye’ and the music video added to the fun of listening through the composition that connects the stories.

As such, seven years after debuting as a ballad idol in 2008, 2AM has succeeded in creating its own genre with a more modern and sophisticated appearance. So, it stimulates listeners’ nostalgia with an era-rich ballad genre while proving musical growth with 2AM’s mature and solid sensibility and vocals, raising expectations for future moves.
