Traditional Korean House ‘Hanok’ To Start Promotions On Bangkok, Thailand

Hanok (Korean Traditional House) promotion

For a month from October 27, there will be a video announcing the excellence of ‘Hanok (traditional Korean house)’ through a large electronic display at the CentralWorld Department Store in Bangkok, Thailand.

Cultural Heritage Administration (Chairman Hyunmo Kim), the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (Chairman Youngchang Choi), and Sungshin Women’s University Professor Kyungduk Seo jointly planned this 30-second advertisement video as part of the ‘Visit Cultural Heritage Campaign.’

In the video, models of various nationalities appear and show Hanok (traditional Korean house) as a space that anyone can enjoy.

In addition, it highlights the unique open structure of ‘Daecheongmaru (Traditional Korean floor)’ and ‘Sarangchae (Korean tradition study room),’ which touches nature with windows on all sides. Also, it highlights functional parts of ‘Hanok’ such as roof tiles and floor in detail.

Chairman Youngchang Choi said, “Now is the right time to publicize the beauty and value of our cultural heritage when interest in K-content is higher than ever.”

Professor Seo said, “It is the third video to promote our culture since the Hanbok video in New York and the Korean food video in London. It is widely known to Internet users around the world through YouTube and social media sites.”

The ‘Visit Cultural Heritage Campaign’ runs until the end of the year.
