The Korean Cultural Center in Turkey announced on October 18 that they held the ‘Korean Speech Contest and Beautiful Hangeul Writing Contest’ to commemorate the 575th Hangeul Day.
In the speaking contest, 22 people participated. It includes graduates of Sejong Institute, students from Korean Literature at Turkish University, and office and graduate students who studied Korean. In the end, five people won the prize.
Then, 36 people participated in the beautiful Hangeul writing competition. They wrote a message celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Korean Cultural Center in Hangeul.
“The popularity of BTS and the Netflix drama ‘Squid Game’ is hot. So, I think it’s more meaningful to celebrate Hangeul Day. I am grateful to Turkish fans who love and care about Korean,” Kihong Park said.
