A forest named after Jungkook, a member of the Kpop group BTS, was born. On October 27, the Korea Federation for Environmental Movements said, “With about 300 fans of BTS member Jungkook, we celebrated his 25th birthday at the Hangang Railroad Bridge in Ichon Hangang Park in Seoul on October 26. We created the BTS ‘Jungkook Forest No. 4.'”

According to the Korea Federation for Environmental Movements, they created BTS ‘Jungkook Forest No. 4’ to revive the increasingly deteriorating environment and deliver beautiful earth to future generations. In anticipation of effects such as responding to climate change, restoring the nature of the Hangang River, and enhancing biodiversity, they planted 3 Japanese hackberries and 600 seaweed trees as a gift.

The fan who proposed the project said, “I am sincerely grateful to the fans in Korea and abroad who participated in creating BTS ‘Jungkook Forest No. 4’ during difficult times. After creating BTS ‘Jungkook Forest No. 3,’ fans visited and proceeded with ‘Forest No. 4’ with joy.”

The Korea Federation for Environmental Movements plans to continue its campaign to create urban forests in compliance with the COVID-19 quarantine guidelines in the future.
